Bad News: Big Sean's house burglary

While Big Sean was on vacation in Dubai, his house was broken into. 

The burglars stole $150k in Jewelery and some of Big Sean's unpublished music. In cases like this it's usually an inside job. Someone who had been in his house before and was familiar with the layout of the house. 

We hope it works out in his favor. 

Congratulations! Kim and Kanye West

Kim made an announcement on her website that she and Kanye West had their baby boy! Apparently the couple couldnt think of a name, I'm sure by now they named the baby something.

Kim was set to be due during Christmas but the baby had other plans.

The Wiz Live Review

The Wiz aired last night on NBC live. For those of you who aren't familiar with The Wiz, it's a remake of the Wizard of Oz but here's the catch; it's with an all black cast. 

Some Twitter followers who tuned into the show took it as far to say that they thought having an all black cast was racist. Not realizing that the Wizard of Oz consisted of All whites. We are programmed to think that an all black anything is unusual in America, or blacks should feel shameful for the thought.

It's a shame that it had to turn into a race issue but it seems to be the direction people are taking it. People can't seem to look past color in this day and age and recognize talent for what it is.   

Let's focus on the positive:

Many celebrities shared their opinions of the show and most were very well expressed.

Overall the show was refreshing!

Teyana Taylor named Monica God Mommy

Teyana Taylor announced that Monica Brown will be the God Mother of her unborn baby.

The two couples were photo'd above at the House of Blues in Cleveland, where Teyana Taylor has been spending most of her time while supporting hubby Iman Shumpert.

Donatella Versace created an Instagram account

You favorite fashion designer, Donatella Versace, decided to join the world of technology! She started an IG account today: @Donatella_Versace

This is exciting news because Versace is a house hold name. Maybe Donatella will give her followers the inside scoop, or give a promotional discount for her clothing line (Wishful thinking). 

Benny Boom set to Direct Tupac biopic?

While the Tupac Biopic has been on hold for many reasons, one of the biggest hold up seems to be finding a director to stick to the script. Carl Franklin was set to direct as recently as the summer, after John Singleton dropped out in April. 

"The people involved aren't really respectful of the legacy of Tupac," says Singleton on Instagram.

The film seemed to be headed in the write direction until Franklin left the project due to unnecessary disagreements. In late October, Producers Emmet/Furla files a $10 million lawsuit against Morgan Creek saying that the company breached a co-production agreement by selecting a lead actor and setting a budget and production schedule without approval. 

Tupac Shakur's mother Afeni was involved in a lawsuit as well. She was sued for the music rights to the film. 

Apparently, Morgan Creek is in the works of hiring Benny Boom to direct the film. Boom has directed two films in the past: Next day air and S.W.A.T. He has also made a big name for himself on the music scene, winning director of the year at the BET awards.

TV: Behind the scenes of Narcos

Since the television show Narcos aired on Netflix, the show has been a success. Narcos is a true-to-life documentary about the rise of a cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar. The show reflects on a period in time when Escobar's Medellin cartel controlled most of the cousins that entered the United States and Europe. As we all know, in order to obtain success in the drug industry you have to be ruthless. It was said that Pablo himself killed an estimated 1,000 police officers and bribed countless government officials, judges and politicians.

Actor Amiable Moura who's portraying Pablo, hails from Brazil. He had to gain 40 pounds and spend 5 months at a Medellin University learning Spanish for the role. Apparently this was all new for Moura. He was quoted saying "I didn't know anything about Pablo, and the only thing I remember is the dead body of a fat guy on the roof of a house... And the bombs in Bogota, of course. But I was a kid. Now I think I've read and seen everything that was ever written or produced about Pablo."

On set of "Narcos": We're in a lot of different places," says executive producer Eric Newman. Two days after THR visited the Bogota set, the production moved to Medellin for a few days.

Memorabilia

Moura (center) gained more than 40 pounds to play Escobar, and the Brazil native spent five months learning Spanish for the role.

Narcos could have chosen nearly any Latin American country as its chief location, but Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos encouraged the production to use the actual terrain where Escobar’s story unfolded.

Relics from Escobar’s reign speak to the type of man he was: He carried this small pistol at all times — and hid it in a law book, thinking the cops would never search it. He was right. Says Newman, “He was a family man and a murdering sociopath.” Adds Moura: “He was a mean person, but he died because he was trying to take his family out of Colombia. He was all about his kids.”

reminders and memorabilia of Escobar’s brutal, bloody reign are on display in a basement museum in Bogota’s central police station, where his guns, motorcycle, pager, photographs and “Wanted” posters are preserved under glass.

 

While not exactly painting the drug trafficker as a sympathetic character, Moura shows the human side of Escobar: “He was a human being, he was a great father, but I’m totally aware of what he did to the country.”
