Former NBA player Magic Johnson extended his hand to Charlie Sheen. Charlie Sheen made an announcement on the "Today Show" that he is HIV positive. The former NBA player, Magic Johnson, was diagnosed with HIV and made his announcement during a PSA in 1991.
Johnson made it clear that if Sheen does right by the virus, he can still live a long life. "I wish Charlie Sheen and his family the best," wrote Johnson on his Twitter. "With the advancement in treatments and medicine he can fight this disease and live a long life."
Johnson has been a very influential advocate for HIV. He also mentioned that he would love for Sheen to come on board with him in educating the world about the virus:
"In Charlie Sheen breaking his silence, I hope he joins me in educating the world about HIV/AIDs," said Johnson in a follow-up tweet.
